The IT company Kaustik offers cloud-based solutions to Sweden’s care and nursing sector. The company is now further strengthening its position through the acquisition of the software company Journal Digital and at the same time changing its name to Allevi.
Kaustik, now operating as Allevi, has had a growth strategy in recent years thus making its third company acquisition in as many years. By adding Journal Digital, the company broadens its offering to also include system solutions for individual and family care – a strong complement to the already existing business areas which are software solutions for personal assistance, elderly home care and housing for disabled and elderly.
– Journal Digital is a market-leading system for documentation and treatment support for individual and family care, enabling clear processes and ensuring quality of treatment. The acquisition means that our competence is broadened and that we now offer system support for providers in all care segments in Sweden. This makes us an even more attractive partner to our customers, and it contributes to strong growth going forward, says Christian Ljunge, CEO of Allevi.

Allevi has a turnover of approximately SEK 80 million, 50 employees and 800 customers in both private and municipal sectors. In recent years, several acquisitions of IT solutions for the care and nursing segments have been completed. Strong brands such as Aiai, Carefox, Omsorg24 and now Journal Digital are some of the products included in the company’s product portfolio and there is a clear ambition for continued strong growth, both organically and through acquisitions.
– As the company has grown and developed, it was time for renewal of the name. The name Allevi, derived from the English term, alleviate, means to facilitate. It is a name completely in line with our vision to help customers free up time so that they can focus on what is important, that is, personal meetings and the care itself, says Christian Ljunge.
Both Allevi and Journal Digital have a large number of customers around Sweden, who now have access to several system solutions for different care segments from one and the same supplier – a strong offer for both private and municipal providers. Allevi’s head office is located in Gothenburg and the company also has offices in Stockholm, Malmö, Jönköping, Umeå and Örebro.
